It is a bit impractical, this one-year term of office for Swiss federal presidents. You have just taken office, which will be taken over by another of the seven government members on January 1st. Then the first appointment is the World Economic Forum in Davos with the many important meetings. Then a few trips abroad and representative tasks – and the year is over again. Really arrive in the most important political office? This is not likely to be the case in Switzerland, which is characterized by direct democracy.
