What happened the evening before Navalny's death?

    -

What really happened on the day Alexei Navalny died? Research by Russian media reveals numerous inconsistencies.

Calling Vladimir Putin a dictator is justified. The Kremlin has itself confirmed the totalitarian nature of Russia. “There is no greater power than the word of the president,” said the chairman of the Russian Federation Council in December 2022. The body is the upper house of parliament and loyal to Putin.

Even according to scientific criteria, Russia can now be viewed as a dictatorship. No important decision is made without the consent of those in power. And so all (Western) experts quickly agreed that Putin's opponent Alexei Navalny not only died an unnatural death, but that the Russian president was very likely involved in the case. The Russian opposition and human rights activists even accuse Putin of murder.

There are now serious indications that the Kremlin may have been involved in Navalny's death. The independent news portal “Meduza.org”, citing the human rights website “Gulagu.net”, reports numerous oddities in connection with Navalny's death. For example, the involvement of the Russian domestic secret service FSB.

“Gulagu.net” apparently managed to make contact with one of Navalny’s fellow prisoners. This describes the events the day before the official death announcement on Friday, February 16th.

The evening before, two FSB officers came to the penal colony No. 3 “Polarwolf” in Siberia and allegedly dismantled cameras and listening devices. They “could have recorded what happened to Alexei Navalny on February 15,” said the inmate. According to “Gulagu.net”, this visit was mentioned in a report from a branch of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

As the Kremlin-critical Novaya Gazeta Europa continues to report, there was a “riot” in the prison camp in northern Russia on the evening in question because the guards carried out an accelerated evening check. The incident is very unusual as such checks usually only happen before public holidays. “They locked us in the barracks, warned us not to move between the barracks and increased the guards,” the newspaper also quoted one prisoner as saying.

The fellow prisoner also says that the excitement in Penal Colony No. 3 continued on the morning of February 16th. Accordingly, the guards temporarily confiscated “mobile phones, maps and even boilers” and the inmates suspected a general inspection. However, this is usually announced weeks in advance. Instead, a “commission appeared,” said the prisoner. The report does not specify what type of commission it was.

The chronology of Navalny's death announcement is also unusual. According to official information from Russian authorities, the death of the imprisoned Putin opponent is said to have occurred on February 16 at 2:17 p.m. After a “walk”, the 47-year-old suddenly complained of feeling unwell and then lost consciousness, it is said.

A few minutes after his death, the cause was already clear

Just two minutes later, at 2:19 p.m., writes “Gulagu.net” on Telegram, the Federal Penitentiary Service published a corresponding press release on its official website. And again a minute later, at 2:20 p.m., the state news agencies Tass and Ria Novosti announced the death of the “convict Navalny”.

The agencies cited the Correctional Service's statement that “all necessary resuscitation measures were performed without positive results.” “The ambulance crew declared the convict dead,” it said. It is unclear how the state news agencies were able to obtain information about Navalny's death so quickly and then report it on their websites.
