If the WDR doesn't do its job, the theater has to process the ideological toxic waste. In this case it consists of the crimes of Nazi cinema icon Leni Riefenstahl. The documentary filmmaker Nina Gladitz had already carefully examined the dark corners of her career in the documentary “Time of Silence and Darkness” in 1982. Riefenstahl successfully sued Gladitz in 1985, and now, after 30 years, the injunction claim has expired. WDR, which produced the film, still doesn't want to release it because “from today's perspective it doesn't meet our standards.”
