The Chinese are showing what their US rival Apple failed: The electronics company Xiaomi, best known for its affordable cell phones, presented its first electric car on Thursday. The SU7 sedan will cost the equivalent of between 28,000 and 39,000 euros, have a range of up to 800 kilometers and be able to accelerate from zero to one hundred in under 2.8 seconds. The car's designers previously worked at BMW, among others. The company had been displaying the cars in its stores across China since the beginning of the week.
