Oops, someone feels something on stage. Adele is nervous, swearing and crying at her first concert in her own arena. And shows why you have to love her and this madness.
It hits her during the first song. Gigantic. Far, so far, a sea, an ocean, a planet full of heads, and behind it the world she herself created. She turns her back on all of this, she has been on stage for two minutes, first song, of course, “Hello” (“it's me”). During the short break in the singing, she walks back along the bridge while the choir sings, puffs out her cheeks with air, exhales deeply. The train drags behind her across the wet stage floor, she lifts the skirt of her midnight blue, floor-length dress and walks up the steps to the band like a bride to the altar who can't believe she's about to get married. She puts her head up to the sky, blowing, and rolls her eyes. And before she turns to the audience, facing the evening again, it seems as if her own creation is collapsing over Adele Laurie Blue Adkins.
