In these days of very good news for Donald Trump, there is one that may not be quite so great for him. The Republicans in the Senate decided on Wednesday to appoint 63-year-old John Thune as the new head of the Senate Republican Conference to appoint. Thune, a South Dakota native, defeated John Cornyn of Texas and Rick Scott of Florida in what was, importantly, a secret ballot.
