When it became clear on the morning of November 6th, and therefore surprisingly early, that Donald Trump had won the American presidential election, disappointment and frustration spread – alongside jubilation among the European right-wingers like Victor Orbán: Once again, the demoscopic institutes, who predicted a neck-and-neck race between Trump and Harris were wrong. Trump was even able to win without exception in the swing states, traditionally the battleground of American presidential elections.
