Strike against Hezbollah? Walkie-talkies explode in Lebanon

    -

After numerous pager explosions the day before, more detonations rock Beirut. This time they appear to be walkie-talkies.

According to media reports, several walkie-talkies detonated on Wednesday afternoon after the coordinated explosions of hundreds of so-called pagers on Tuesday evening. Explosions were reportedly heard in southern Beirut. Hezbollah sources said that “a number of walkie-talkies exploded” in a southern suburb of the Lebanese capital.

The Lebanese state news agency also reported explosions of pagers and other communication devices in the east and south of Lebanon. AFP reporters reported explosions in Sidon in the south and in Baalbeck in the east of the country.

Around 2,750 people were injured and several people were killed in the pager explosions in Lebanon on Tuesday. Among the injured were numerous members of the pro-Iranian terrorist group Hezbollah. Although Israel's army and intelligence services did not claim responsibility for the explosions, Hezbollah and Iran accused them of being the masterminds.
