If you write English plays, says Australian playwright Suzie Miller, sooner or later you have to live in London or New York. Not in Australia. That's why she now lives in London, where her play “Prima Facie” premiered in 2019, an impressive monologue about a criminal lawyer who herself is a victim of rape and fails because of the system she knows so well. The play will be staged this season at 18 theaters in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The novel of the same name is now being published in German by Kjona Verlag. Suzie Miller has just returned from New York, where she spoke at a United Nations event about how art can bring about social change.
