The Israeli army carried out a targeted air strike in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Friday afternoon, in which, according to the army, high-ranking Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Akil was killed. Army spokesman Daniel Hagari announced this early Friday evening. According to the army, other members of Hezbollah's elite Radwan unit were also killed in the attack. Hagari did not provide any details. Hezbollah did not initially comment on the matter.
