If one were to measure which feelings Germans most often experience when thinking about the global political situation, fear would be high in the top ten. There is a lot to be afraid of right now: fear of war, fear of terrorism, fear of uncontrolled migration, fear of right-wing extremism, fear of climate change, fear of the future.
